Understanding how our dreams and unconscious mind relate to our reality.

Do we truly know ourselves? This is an existential question Carl Gustav Jung worked to explore in his life’s work. To truly know ourselves and our inner being allows the individual the opportunity for growth and real mental health. Jung believed that by studying our inner personalities and dreams, we could better recognize our natural wants that form our relationships around us in the world. The exploration of our ego, archetypes, and unconscious minds allows us to recognize our shortcomings of our inner selves, so that we might learn to make the need correction towards better mental health.

For readers that are looking for mental health answers to life’s problems that pair science with spirituality, Jung’s work is invaluable. Religion was a large foundation of the psychological concepts and practice by Jung. His blending his understanding of the scientific brain with the human spiritual soul to create a holistic approach towards growth.

This was a fantastic book for anyone interested in a basic understanding of some of the largest psychology principles of the 20th century. Part history, part psychology, part self-help, this book offers a wide range of knowledge for all readers interested in the mind. Even with complex topic, Gary Bobroff is able to explain them clearly and simply for novice readers. The books is filled with numerous colorful examples and pictures to help the readers along. After reading this book, I felt I had not only mentally grown in my scientific understanding, but also in my spiritual faith in the world around me.
