It deals with a small town and the ghosts of these slave owner ancestors. What was right and what was wrong. But most of all, it tells of three young women that should have not been thrust together in 1887 that struggled to get what was rightfully theirs throughout time and inheritance. Three young women that shared practically nothing in common except a father and slave owner. This novel is a mixture of emotions and feelings that will want you yearning for more. This is history alive, told with heartbreaks and optimism. If you are a high school teacher, this should be a must on your reading requirements.
