Review By: Blackbird (Inmate)

Using our inner spiritual wisdom to find our most productive selves.

When I first began wanting to really improve my life I started working very hard to make achievements and growths, but a good amount of the time I found much of my efforts were wasted. This led me to feel frustrated, angry and jealous of those I saw as successful. I couldn't understand why my efforts and work didn't seem to amount to as much as others around me. I don't believe I am the only one with this feeling after talking with many inmates. That is why I feel this book by Ryuho Okawa can be a real help to those wanting to improve their working lives while growing the wisdom they hold.

After reading this book I see how working without a known purpose creates needless struggle for a person. When I began working on tasks I was so focused on the end goal "successes" to start I never developed the needed knowledge, depth, skills and wisdom to produce a meaningful product. The ability to slow down to reflect and build the proper foundational skills is what Okawa shares in this book. He teaches the readers to question their current abilities and the environment around them they work in to see if they are ready to take the proper steps towards success. One important piece for me in this journey that Okawa reminded me of was the need for a spiritual answer for my working wants. How is what I am wanting and working towards aligned with the Truth of God's wisdom. I see know that when we work purely for materialistic temporary pleasures the results will not be lasting. This seems to be a big hurdle for many other inmates thinking I have found.

This would be an excellent book for others in need of a spiritual path that helps them find practical worldly success, while becoming closer to God. The real life examples used by Okawa make it a powerful read that allows the reader to reflect upon his message along the way. I would give this book to anyone beginning school or a new job.

"It is important to ensure more people can go back to the starting point and think from a clean slate whether something is worth doing - and if doing so adds to their true knowledge - and whether their success in this is a plus to this world and the other world. "

"No matter how smart you may be, if you have zero cooperative skills, you cannot work at a company."
