Review By: Blackbird (Inmate)

Learning about your inner child to help health your adult self.

Many inmates have a series of childhood traumas that have impacted our adult lives leading us into imprisonment. To become free either outside or inside of jail requires us to find a level of peace where we can feel not hurt. This is where the need for learning how to heal ourselves emotionally comes into play and why a book like this can be a very powerful too.

As an inmate my childhood had serveal traumatic events that worked to shape many of my adult experiences. The hurt created during my childhood had real negative lasting impact on my relationships, work and mental well being. I have been lucky enough to start to work to find a healthier mental life during my incarnation, but I understand how difficult the road to recovery can be. The only way I can find a peaceful fufilling life of success is to start healing myself from my past.

In this book you are given strategies on how to reconnect with your childhood self and work to repair the traumatic events of the past. You are taught how to heal past pains, forgive yourself for them and learn to move on by living the life you deserve. The book is fairly short with a lot of good information so it would be excellent for anyone dealing with past pains. Each chapter provides a greater insight of what past events might be triggering current struggles and how you can learn to overcome them. I am grateful I read this book because I see the help it brought me in learning to love and forgive myself.
